Carefirst is a well-established and supportive group of medical practices.  We are Taranaki's largest GP practice, caring for more than 20,000 patients across four practice sites.  Carefirst has an urgent care clinic running alongside our GP clinics five days per week, is supported by radiology, pharmacy, podiatry, physiotherapy and visiting specialist services.

We're on the lookout for a part-time Telephonist/Receptionist to join the welcoming team at our Westown clinic. With our long-serving and much-loved telephonist moving on to new adventures, we're seeking someone who enjoys helping people, stays calm under pressure, and brings great attention to detail — all with a friendly smile. What you'll be doing:

  • Answering and directing incoming phone calls with warmth and professionalism
  • Accurately scheduling appointments
  • Responding to email enquiries in a timely and friendly manner
  • Scanning and filing patient notes and correspondence with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
  • Providing general reception and administrative support to the wider team

  • Strong multitasking and time management skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • A passion for providing outstanding customer service
  • Confidence with computers and a willingness to learn new systems
  • A flexible, adaptable attitude with team-oriented mindset
Hours of work:
  • Monday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Tuesday: 8:00am – 5:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:00am – 12:00pm

Preference will be given to candidates with previous GP or health experience and those who can offer flexibility to cover additional hours during staff leave.
