Elizabeth Knox Home and Hospital is a not-for-profit organisation providing innovative, relationship-centred care to residents. We are seeking an experienced IT Manager for a 6-month fixed-term contract to lead key IT projects and ensure our technology systems are secure, reliable, and aligned with organisational needs. 

About the Role

The IT Manager is responsible for developing and implementing the organisation's IT strategy, ensuring our technology environment effectively supports service delivery and operational goals. This role will lead IT projects from planning through to delivery, ensuring cost-effective, secure, and sustainable solutions. 

You will oversee the performance, integrity, and security of our systems while providing hands-on technical support. This position is well suited to someone comfortable working in a not-for-profit environment where resources are limited, and technology plays a critical role in enabling high-quality care. 

**Key Responsibilities

1. IT Strategy Development**

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with organisational priorities and budgets.
  • Identify emerging technologies and opportunities to enhance efficiency and service delivery.

2. Project Management

  • Plan, manage, and monitor IT projects to ensure delivery within scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Prepare project documentation, timelines, and risk/change management plans.

3. Systems and Infrastructure

  • Assess existing systems and recommend upgrades or replacements.
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of cloud services, networks, and software solutions.

4. Cyber Security and Compliance

  • Ensure technology systems meet best-practice security standards and compliance requirements.
  • Implement and monitor cyber security measures, policies, and staff awareness initiatives.

5. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work collaboratively with leadership and staff to understand technology needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate cost-effective, fit-for-purpose solutions.

6. Training and Change Management

  • Develop and delivery training to support staff adoption of new systems.
  • Lead change management initiatives to ensure smooth transitions during system improvements.

About You

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • Proven experience in IT management or senior IT project roles.
  • Strong project management capability within small to medium organisations.
  • Hands-on technical proficiency across systems, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Knowledge of cyber security best practice.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit, health, or aged care sector (advantageous but not required).
