Data Scientist

Veriphi is an exciting medical device start-up, whose mission is to help save lives by avoiding intravenous medication error. The company has developed a revolutionary solution to improve medication safety through the verification of intravenous (IV) drugs. By preventing errors and improving governance around medication delivery, Veriphi will not only save lives, but also reduce healthcare costs.

As a member of our team, you will have an active role in the architecture, design, development, and validation of innovative drug verification solutions.

On a day-to day basis you could be:

• Providing subject matter leadership in data science for other team members
• Producing quality customized data science-based models/scripts as needed
• Producing efficient, automated and extendable data related application-level pipelines and tools
• Working with colleagues who are collecting drug data to address Veriphi's business objectives
• Architecting, Designing, Building and Testing ongoing improvements in Veriphi's data science capabilities, features, and solutions
• Liaising with expert third parties as required
• Providing user experience feedback on Veriphi's product capabilities, features and solutions
  

REQUIREMENTS

You will have…

• A high level of Python & SQL proficiency
• Experience working with AWS products, tools and services e.g. RDS, EC2, S3, Glue, etc.
• Experience with data analytics involving data cleaning, data validation, data visualisations, and machine learning algorithms
• Ability to automate data pipelines and develop appropriate tools based on business requirements
• A high level of numeracy and aptitude for data and mathematical modelling
• Solid experience in latest data science methods, architectural models, tool chains (including applicable cloud service provider tools e.g. AWS), databases and the relative strengths and weaknesses of the various implementations of these when applied to achieve a specified result
• Have exceptional problem solving skills
• Be a team player who is confident to speak up with ideas and issues
• Have a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or applicable IT-related course of study
• Have 4+ years professional experience
• Be entitled to work full time in NZ
  
  This role is office based to enable efficient and timely collaboration within a small, highly technical team who excel at getting things done
