At Total Ground Engineering (TGE), we specialise in advanced foundation and ground solutions for infrastructure, energy, telecommunications, and commercial structures. We're looking for an intermediate to senior Geotechnical Design Engineer (6–10 years' experience) who thrives on combining field data with analytical modelling and design. You'll work across the full project lifecycle — from scheduling and managing investigations and analysis through to design and delivery — helping shape resilient infrastructure for New Zealand's future.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and perform geotechnical design and analysis using PLAXIS 2D/3D, SLOPE/W, Settle3, Python and similar tools.
  • Plan, supervise, and interpret field investigations.
  • Translate design outcomes into reports, and specifications with clarity and precision.
  • Manage proposals, budgets, and timelines, communicating clearly with clients and colleagues.
  • Contribute to quality and continuous improvement through TGE's ISO 9001 and safety frameworks.

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree (Washington Accord level) in Geotechnical Engineering (honours/postgraduate advantageous).
  • 6–10 years' experience in investigation, analysis, and design in a consulting environment.
  • Proficiency in numerical modelling or coding (Python an advantage).
  • Collaborative mindset and commitment to technical excellence.
  • Progressing toward or holding CPEng status.
  • Full NZ driver's licence.
