- Lead in a true agile environment

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Help us unleash the true potential of Toitū Te Whenua, as an accomplished leader with a passion for driving strategic planning and optimising performance within a public sector/government setting,
As the Leader - Planning and Performance, you are accountable for defining, measuring, and reporting on the planning and performance of Toitū Te Whenua - Land Information NZ. You will develop and lead an integrated and effective performance function that provides tools, and support to the organisation to enable effective planning, prioritisation, accountability, delivery, and monitoring of our work programmes to achieve the purpose and objectives of our Kaupapa Strategy. You will champion our role, as a Te Tiriti o Waitangi Partner, and ensuring a te ao Māori perspective is applied and shapes how we deliver our work.
You are not afraid to deviate from the way things have been done in the past and value diversity of ideas and different approaches to achieve solutions.
You understand the value of connections and partner to establish networks across your organisation. You have exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills and will ultimately use these to deliver high quality services for our staff, customers, stakeholders, Iwi and New Zealand as a whole.
This is a newly created role bringing a group of staff from EPMO, Planning and Performance, and Outcomes measures together where you will work collaboratively with three other managers all invested in delivering on each other's portfolios, while you will home manage nine FTE's and work manage others within the value streams of the portfolio, you'll share resources across the other group portfolios pivoting to meet organisational demands.
Your team are fantastic, they already have the trust of the organisation, and their close stakeholders value the work they contribute. They have recently come together from siloed teams, so you have the opportunity pick up and start designing almost from scratch. Some of your team will work completely remotely, so you'll be on board to support this.

If you like variety, then this role delivers, as you are also responsible for the design, development and implementation of the corporate stewardship of projects that Organisational Performance leads, example of these:

- The recent development of Corporate Policy Stewardship - building a knowledge of the policies we are required to have and ensuring that they are homed and kept up to date by the relevant business owner.
- The delivery of the Annual Report.
- Our 120 day planning across the organisation and the designing, improving, reporting and coaching that comes out of that.
- Helping to understand where our resources are, and what work we need to prioritise to deliver.
- Reporting on how we are operating as an organisation inside of a hybrid Agile/Waterfall environment.
- The stewardship of reports that go to external parties.

We see this role at the heart of the organisation, you are pulling everything together to help inform decision making but also reflect the fantastic things we do and help prioritise our work programmes.
You will work with Ministers, Kaihautū (Senior Leadership team), the CFO, Head of People, Business Managers and across our entire organisation. As well as establishing and building networks with people in other agencies in similar roles and Te Kawa Mataaho.
We can't wait to witness the transformation as you streamline operations, refine policies, and nurture a culture of excellence, embracing a future of enhanced satisfaction, improved services, and sustainable progress.
