**About us**:

**About the position**:
You will be part of a full time course of study, supporting to deliver a programme that is both theory and practice based. You will work alongside tauira (students) whilst they partake in a Forestry level 2 programme. The Kaiako Support role is to provide support to tauira to achieve the theory and practical requirements of the programme. The role is also a teaching assistant to the kaiako (tutor).
The overarching objective of the programme is to give tauira the opportunity to experience trade education and in particular that of forestry. The programme is taught in a unique Wānanga learning environment that is based on the Māori principles of whanaungatanga (family relationships), rangatiratanga (leadership), tūhonohono (engagement) and mauitanga (innovation).
**About you**:
If you have proven successful experience in the forestry industry, you may be the person we are looking for. Ideally, you will have:
- Forestry qualification Level 3 minimum
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Full Drivers Licence
- Experience teaching or working in the forestry industries (including knowledge in the Health & Safety requirements.
**Āhuatanga Māori;**
- Prepared to increase knowledge, understanding and everyday use of te reo and āhuatanga Māori and support other kaimahi (staff) in the same endeavour
- Embraces a Māori world view underpinned by the values of Te Aroha, Te Whakapono, Ngā Ture and Kotahitanga
