Retail Assistant

Warkworth is in the northern part of the Auckland Region located on State Highway one, 64 km north of Auckland and 98 km south of Whangarei and is at the head of Mahurangi Harbour. Now with the Northern Corridor complete, the world is a smaller place and travelling to Warkworth is a breeze.

We have roles that will mainly include Customer Services and Checkouts but could assist with Click & Collect and Deliveries all of which fall under the Front-end Department. We also have postions in our Seaonsal department that will include helping customers chose items such as BBQ’s, outdoor furniture and heating and cooling products.

**Do you have?**
- Previous cash handling / point of sale experience?
- High numerical skills and attention to detail?
- Good customer services skills?

**Could you?**
- Process transactions and tenders including cash, eftpos, credit cards, gift vouchers;
- Provide correct change and cash out to enable accurate end of day balancing;
- Process applicable loyalty card programs and transact to security requirements;
- Process all refunds, exchanges and returns as per company policy;
- Process faulty goods for repairs in line with company policy;
- Fulfil a 5-day work week (including Sunday)

**About Warkworth**:

- The Warkworth district is known as the Kowhai Coast, named after the native kowhai tree, and the town's annual Kowhai Festival is one of the largest community festivals in the country, running for around a week in spring.
- One of the most prominent features of Warkworth is the Mahurangi River, an estuary which runs right through the township, where it then joins the Mahurangi Harbour and flows into the Hauraki Gulf.
- On the eastern side of the river is the Mahurangi East peninsula, with the seaside towns of Snells Beach and Algies Bay. It is here that the scenic Kawau Island is found, notable for its historic Mansion House, once the private retreat of Governor Grey. East of Warkworth and north of Mahurangi East lies the Tawharanui Peninsula, home of The Tawharanui Regional Park and Tawharanui Marine Park.
