**About the role**

Reporting to the Radio Radar Unit Leader, and working on the Devonport Naval Base, this positon provides support for a range of Military and Commercial radios and the associated interfaces and equipment as well as various other electronic equipment

**Key responsibilities will include**:

- Installation, set to work, maintenance, trouble shooting, repair and testing of communication systems. Typically Military/Civilian radios and the associated interfacing and audio circuits.
- Identify and rectify faults in a range of electrical and electronic systems down to component level.
- Ensure all maintenance, repair and commissioning of equipment is carried out and completed to schedule, in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
- Provide well formulated and accurate technical reports.
- Highlight any possible cost overruns or defects which may arise.
- Develop test procedures where required.
- _Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports for Babcock and customers_
- Identify, develop and lead improvement opportunities
- Promote Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness

**About You**

To be successful in this position, you will have a National Certificate in Electronics or equivalent, training and experience in HF Radio systems and radio communication and associated systems and equipment. You will have a minimum of Electrical Service Technician Practicing Licence (full electrical registration and practicing license would be desirable), are able to analyse equipment/systems faults and carry out circuit board repairs to a high standard. Over and above this you highly value health and safety of yourself and others, are self-motivated and enjoy working as part of a team.

Please note:

- This position requires you to be able to hold a Secret Security Clearance.
- There will be some requirement for ‘working at heights’.
