Graphic Designer

This is an in-house role for a Graphic Designer at the intermediate or senior level. Based in Onehunga, Auckland, our client is looking for a designer at the intermediate or senior level with a clean aesthetic. You will implement design solutions that are creative, appropriate, and consistent with the brand and vision, while conveying the aims, messages, and themes of the project.

If you are at the senior level, you will have the potential to manage another intermediate designer, and together will produce graphic design and communication material for projects and ongoing products that deliver exceptional experiences for clients and internal stakeholders.

**The Role**:

- Deploy successful marketing campaigns and own their implementation from creation to execution
- Designing original pieces, including illustrations and infographics
- Ensure materials are engaging and on message to reach appropriate stakeholders/audiences.
- Interpret clients’ needs and design solutions with high visual impact.
- Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts

You will work directly with the Global Design Manager to develop new ideas and campaigns to drive customer engagement.

**Other Tasks**:

- Prepare designs/concepts according to instructions of the client or other stakeholders.
- Consider the illustrative material, photographs, and text to plan presentation of material, product, or service
- Determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy to create sample layouts
- Create presentations for client/stakeholder selection and approval
- Prepare final layout and check proofs. Once approved provide the final files in the required format/s
- Manage print process, from proof through to finished product. Including: set-up, trimming, binding & release/distribution
- Work with the Global Design Manager to develop new ideas and campaigns to drive customer engagement
- Prepare designs/concepts according to instructions of the client or other stakeholders.
- Consider the illustrative material, photographs, and text to plan presentation of material, product, or service
- Determine the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy to create sample layouts
- Create presentations for client/stakeholder selection and approval

**Expected Experience:
- Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, XD, Premiere Pro and Figma
- Experienced brand designer with a strong portfolio to match
- Strong conceptual design thinker with a fine eye for detail. Hands on from the initial research and ideation stages, through to completion
- Collaboration through the design process and taking direction and feedback.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
- Able to work autonomously, manage own workload to deliver work to deadlines and within budget.
- Comfortable providing advice and recommendations in a concise and timely manner.
- CMS management and EDM design experience
- Experience leading or mentoring junior staff a bonus
- A Tertiary qualification in Design or similar
- Must have Marketing experience - could be experience working in-house or within marketing teams

**Would also really like you to have the following**:

- Brand identity/logo creation experience
- Management/team leadership or mentorship experience (if a Senior)

Please note that this is a full-time role, 40 hours per week, and our client is not open to part-time hours. The role is office based in Onehungal, Auckland for a minimum of 3 days per week, Monday to Wednesday, with an option to work from home on Thursday and Friday if desired.
