Reliability Engineer

**About the Role**
In your role as Reliability Engineer, you will report directly to the Lumber Engineering Manager and play a key leadership role within the division. You will lead a team of 7, including 4 members from the planning department and 3 Engineering Technicians. In the absence of the Engineering Manager, you will step into the Deputy Engineering Manager role. Your primary focus will be ensuring and continuously improving plant performance, while managing financial budgets. You will oversee the planning, execution, improvement and optimisation of all maintenance activities, maintenance processes and maintenance systems ensuring Lumber productivity is maintained.
This role is based at our Whirinaki site, located 15 minutes north of Napier. This is a day position and is usually Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 4.30pm. However, this role will involve some Sunday work, typically one in three to provide regular interaction with maintenance contractors and access to the plant whilst shut down to enable reliability work to be carried out. When a Sunday is worked, the previous Friday will be taken off instead (or an alternative day by agreement).

**About you**
If you have demonstrated experience in plant maintenance and reliability and have the following skills, we would love to hear from you:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent (NZCE etc)
- A strategic thinker who is focused on improvements
- Experience managing contractors or direct reports
- Effective planning skills
- Effective communication skills
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Strong knowledge of engineering standards and procedures
- A systematic and detailed approach to your work
- A tertiary qualification in electrical engineering, or equivalent, or a Diploma in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant maintenance and reliability
- Sound judgement with a tactical and practical approach to solving problems
- Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP) would be advantageous
