**Food preparation**:Assist in the preparation of ingredients, such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and marinating meat. This may also include measuring and weighing ingredients as per the recipe.
- **Dishwashing and cleaning**: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans either by hand or using dishwashing equipment. Clean kitchen surfaces, floors, and equipment to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- ** Stock management**: Assist in receiving and storing food supplies, ensuring proper rotation and organization of stock. This may involve unpacking deliveries, checking for quality and freshness, and labelling items.
- **Assisting chefs and cooks**: Help the chefs and cooks by fetching ingredients, retrieving equipment, and performing other tasks as requested. This may include assembling and garnishing dishes, plating food, or coordinating food orders.
- ** Waste disposal**:Properly dispose of food waste and recyclable materials, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- ** Maintenance of kitchen equipment**: Clean and maintain kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and slicers. Report any faulty equipment to the appropriate personnel.
- **Adhering to safety and hygiene standards**: Follow all safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures to ensure a clean and safe working environment. This includes wearing appropriate protective clothing, such as gloves and aprons.
- **Assisting with inventory**: Keep track of stock levels, notify the supervisor or manager whe supplies are running low, and participate in regular inventory checks.
- **Collaboration with team members**:Work closely with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Communicate effectively to ensure smooth coordination and teamwork.
