Gas Technician

We are currently on the lookout for a Gas Technician for a rare and exciting opportunity in the sunny Hawkes Bay.

This is a technically challenging role where you will be required to provide quality service and workmanship in the areas of new gas service connections, faults and repairs, stand overs and mark outs for gas networks, and leak detection. You will also be involved in planned maintenance and routine inspections of both above and below network assets including district stations, metering equipment, gas network pipes, and pipeline protections.

You’ll enjoy working outdoors, doing physical and mechanical work in a variety of conditions in an environment where we need to have a 24-hour call roster.

**What you will offer**
- Current (and relevant) Gas Distribution Industry Certificate of Competence (CoC)
- Extensive industry related experience
- Sound knowledge of gas testing, protection equipment, systems and procedures utilised on gas networks
- Strong commitment to Health and Safety
- A driver's drivers lithe cence and ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Be a reliable, honest and flexible team-player
- Have excellent time management skills with the ability to follow instructions
- Availability to participate in a call out roster
