Wellington City, New Zealand Contact Energy Full time

Company Description **Te Tākinatanga | Our Story** We’re on a journey to transform our business end-to-end; a transformation that’s been felt hardest and fastest in ICT. As we strengthen our technology, customer, and data capabilities, adopt modern ways of working and shape our culture for greater agility, innovation and customer obsession, the ICT tīma have rolled with change after change, boosting their mana and engagement with the business to be **the** team our people turn to when they need help. Of course, with transformation comes mahi; enough to need another Cloud Architect - which is where you come in. **Job Description**: **Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role*** As a Cloud Architect at Contact, you’ll be a designer more than a doer. We have a solid team of Engineers, so while those skills are handy to have, your time won’t be spent on the tools so much as architecting robust cloud solutions. As an Architect rather than Senior Engineer you’ll have to do forums, be prepared to defend your designs, and get in front of stakeholders. Reporting to the Lead Core Platform Architect, you’ll join a solid team of Architects who all take a “services, not servers” approach to solving technology problems (all about automation > manual intervention). We work on cutting-edge cloud technologies, have a cloud first policy, a large busy cloud landscape, and a close working relationship with AWS meaning you get inside knowledge and invites, support, and expert advice to rely on. We have a bunch of new projects to get stuck into soon, alongside mahi that’s already in the works to optimise the AWS, decouple digital data channels, create a universal identity access system + more. **Qualifications**: **Ko wai koe | About you** This role is fully AWS so it’s essential your world has been all AWS, too. Bringing a real blend of technical + personality, you can talk shop in the team just as comfortably as talking to the business about projects, able to translate technical speak for non-technical people with ease. You’re able to build rapport and trust while working remotely and take a collaborative approach to your work, happy to review others’ work, have yours reviewed, and actively cross-skill within the team. Ideally, you’re already an Architect, but if you’re almost-there and can show you’ve done some good cutting-edge work and truly engaged with the business, we’d be stoked to hear from you. We’ll also be looking out for: - Broad experience with a variety of Storage, Compute and Network technologies - Familiarity with Linux, Windows, Relational and non-relational datastores - Qualifications in Information Sciences / Software Engineering or Architect-level Certifications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud - Broad understanding of business environment i.e., process, competitive drivers, goals and commercial threats and risks. Additional Information Contact is not a place you’ll stagnate. We are growing and offer superb learning and development opportunities along with a bunch of other perks like free health insurance cover, better-than-your-average leave, access to Contact Shares, a ‘Good to be Home’ annual payment toward your home set up & wellbeing, a trail-blazing parental leave policy, discounts on Contact Energy products_, _and more.
