**Tenei turanga - About the Role**:
We are currently seeking a Principal Advisor Risk and Assurance to support us over the next six-months while we integrate the risk and assurance functions within a new Group. ur small, friendly, and close-knit Planning, Risk and Assurance team.

The position reports into the Manager Group Risk and Assurance within the Planning Risk and Assurance branch. The branch forms the engine room to support the new Corporate and Digital Shared Services Group.

As a Principal Advisor, you will play an important role in bringing consistency to the risk functions within the new group while continuing to enhance overall risk maturity.

You will also support the ongoing work to embed risk management and assurance into the wider performance story. You will bring a range of risk and assurance experiences to arrive at pragmatic and practical solutions.

Working collaboratively with the Manager Group Risk and Assurance you will also provide operational and strategic risk advice as well as lead and manage the assurance programme.

**Skills and Experience Required**
- 5+ years' experience in risk management and assurance
- Proven experience in leading and undertaking complex risk management and assurance activities
- The ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Can effectively cope with change, shift gears comfortably, decide and act without having the total picture, and handle risk and uncertainty
- Confident in supporting the business to effectively manage risk and identify opportunities for improvement
- The ability to manage competing priorities within tight deadlines
