**About the Role**

We have a permanent full time position available for a Medical Laboratory Technician or Medical Laboratory Pre-Analytical Technician in the specimen registration department of the laboratory. You will be required to participate in the 24/7 roster when training is complete.

Key responsibilities of the role:

- Receive, label and process specimens according to established protocols and quality standards.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of patient and specimen information.
- Prepare specimens for analysis and ensure proper handling and storage.
- Effective use of time to ensure timely distribution of specimens to other departments.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and healthcare providers.

**About the Service**

The specimen services department plays a cruical role in the healthcare system by managing the collection, processing and distribution of patient specimens for testing. Operating on a 24/7 roster, this department has a dedicated team of professionals who can work in a fast-paced environment to ensure a timely and accurate specimen handling.

**About you**
- Ability to understand instructions and follow established operating procedures.
- Good communication skills.
- Data entry and reasonable typing skills required.
- Be able to work well on your own as well as in a team environment.
