We have an opportunity to join our highly experienced Forensic Toxicology team at our Kenepuru Science Centre in Porirua.
The team are a group of dedicated, supportive, and passionate people who take pride in the quality of their work which delivers services that underpin the Coronial and Criminal Justice system in Aotearoa New Zealand.
This opportunity offers diverse and interesting work which contributes to the wellbeing of New Zealanders. The work includes managing complex forensic cases, being involved in the analysis of biological material for toxicological analysis and delivering expert opinion evidence in court.
Our Forensic Toxicologists also complete the review and interpretation of analytical results, undertake reporting of results for forensic purposes, including certificates, reports and expert witness statements and provide peer review of casework completed by others. Workflows include toxicology pertaining to death investigations, impaired drivers, workplace drug testing and other criminal matters.
We are keen to hear from suitably qualified individuals with a background in analytical chemistry, biochemistry, forensic or clinical toxicology or pharmacology. Experience in the use of instrumentation such as GC-MS or LC-MSMS would be advantageous as would experience in managing and reporting toxicology cases.
There is plenty of opportunity and scope to become involved in research and development, mentoring staff, quality assurance, workflow management and other tasks to support the F-SAS team.
