Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
This role is based primarily in the Endocrinology section though there may be a requirement to provide backup to another area. As a Technical Specialist you will be required to oversee testing in the area (routine running and troubleshooting existing assays), set up new assays, provide consistent training to staff, manage documentation and assist the Section Leader in ensuring IANZ accreditation requirements are met. An understanding of process improvement is required in order to lead quality improvements in the section.
The Specialist Chemical Pathology department encompasses Special Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Trace Metals and Chromatography and provides laboratory services for 3 national programmes (Bowel Screening, Newborn Screening and Antenatal Screening).
