Bring your leadership and commercial acumen in delivering projects to GHD This in an incredible opportunity for a motivated and engaging leader who will drive the delivery, strategic initiatives and business development for our **Southern Transport **group based in either **Christchurch or Dunedin.**

Working closely with the Operations Manager Transport and Water you will have the opportunity to combine your technical knowledge of the Transport market and your people skills to take a lead role in developing our Southern Transport and National Transport business, which includes our National Road Management teams. You will manage and grow our existing contracts and relationships with private, local government and state sector clients. You will support and grow our people and the Transport business. Business Development will also be a key part of the position.

**About your new role**:

- Lead the Southern Transport Business Group performance, people, and resources.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with clients (internal and external).
- Work closely with Market Leaders to agree strong market sector alignment for the business plan
- Provide support to the Operations Manager Transport and Water, and Finance Manager at month end with regard to invoicing and forecasting for Projects within the Business Group
- Provide leadership to the Business Group in line with GHD's values and objectives.

**About you**:

- Minimum Bachelor's qualification in Engineering, ideally with CPEng
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic focus
- Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills
- Extensive experience working in a Group Manager position or in a Transport leadership position
- Ideally have experience working in a consultancy, fast paced environment.
