**About the role**:
Are you a seasoned Software Architect with a passion for designing and building exceptional software solutions? Join Portainer.io, a leading company in the container management space, as a Software Architect. In this role, you will lead the architecture of our software products, driving innovation and ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions that empower organizations to manage containers with ease. We are looking for someone who has a passion for creating DevOps tools in the Docker and Kubernetes ecosystem, and has had significant experience with large distributed systems in mission critical environments.

**Requirements**:

- Define and evolve the software architecture strategy for Portainer.io, aligning it with the company's mission and goals.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to understand and prioritize architectural requirements.
- Design and document robust, scalable, and maintainable software architectures that support the full software development lifecycle.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural principles, coding standards, and best practices.
- Evaluate and recommend technology stacks, frameworks, and tools that enhance the development process and improve software quality.
- Lead architectural reviews and ensure architectural alignment across different projects and teams within the organization.
- Identify and address technical risks and challenges, proposing effective solutions to ensure the success of software projects.
- Leverage your experience with distributed systems at scale to design resilient and high-performing software solutions, specifically in the datacenter and Industry4, and IIOT space.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously enhance the software architecture.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience as a Software Architect or a similar role, with a track record of designing and delivering successful software solutions.
- Strong proficiency in software design principles, patterns, and best practices.
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture, APIs, and RESTful services.
- Proficiency in Go, React, and Angular, Linux
- Experience with containerization platforms like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholder

Desirable
- Previous experience working on container management or DevOps tooling projects
- Contributions to open-source projects related to software architecture, containers, or DevOps.
- Knowledge of software-defined networking and security practices in modern software architectures.
- Experience designing and implementing distributed systems at scale.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields (or equivalent work experience).
