**DEPARTMENT OF PHYSICS**
**DIVISION OF SCIENCES**

**_ Who we are_**

The University of Otago, located in the scenic Otago region, is New Zealand's oldest University and has a strong teaching and research tradition and well-established national and international linkages. Our Physics Department is top-ranked in New Zealand, and has a vibrant research program in both theoretical **_and experimental physics._**

**_ The Role_**

As a Postdoctoral Fellow within our Department, you will join Dr Philip Brydon to work on the project: Superconductors that survive ultra-high magnetic fields: Revealing the role of symmetry.

This project is funded by the Royal Society of New Zealand’s Marsden fund, and seeks to explore the physics of unconventional superconductors in nonsymmorphic lattices. In this you will work closely with PI Brydon and the AI, Prof. Daniel Agterberg (University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee). You will also assist with the development of graduate student skills and participate in MacDiarmid Institute group activities.

**_ Your Skills and Experience_**
- a Doctorate in Physics (or Doctorate nearing completion).
