**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a social worker to join our inpatient service at Hutt Hospital. The social worker in this role will work on the medical ward and other acute areas as required. The role will be varied and interesting with the opportunity to flex into different areas of the hospital. Both new graduates and experienced social workers will be considered for this role in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

**Mō tō mātou rōpū - About our team**

Our social work team based at Hutt Hospital provides a service to patients and their whānau across inpatient, outpatient and community settings. We are a friendly, highly supportive medium sized team of around twelve.

**Moū - About you**

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

- NZ Registered Social Worker with current annual practising certificate
- The ability to complete psycho social needs assessment
- The ability to communicate complex information clearly to a range of audiences
- Navigating and working within the legal requirements of health care and social work
- A clear understanding of the health needs of Māori and Pacific Island communities
- Previous work in a health setting and a good understanding of health social work (this could include placement)
