**Te Pae Hauora o Ruahine o Tararua | MidCentral are expanding our Orthopaedic Department and we are looking for a mix of advanced surgical interests and skill. **We are interested in hearing from surgeons with an interest and/or sub-specialty in spinal surgery.** In addition, you will be able and willing to provide service in general Orthopaedic and trauma surgery. You will partake in the general on-call roster and will contribute to management of trauma and other acute Orthopaedic presentations. Due to the high demand, you will be involved in the provision of primary knee and hip joint replacement services to the Manawatū community. If desired, you could also participate in delivering services in the private sector.
The spine service will be management of trauma, decompression and stabilisation of the spine surgery. If you are interested in tertiary spine surgery, you will be able to liaise and coordinate the management with tertiary institutes.
You would be one of ten Orthopaedic Specialists. There is also a Medical Officer, 9 Registrars (two are on the national training program) and House Officers.

Applicants must hold FRACS Orthopaedic or equivalent and be eligible for vocational registration in Orthopaedic Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
