At He Whānau Manaaki Kindergartens, we have over 108 kindergartens across the regions we serve, bringing learning, connection, and fun to families across Whanganui, Central Plateau, Horowhenua, Kapiti, Porirua, Greater Wellington, Upper Hutt, Wairarapa and South Otago. We also provide a home-based service - Etu Ao in Porirua and Levin.

Our vision for He Whānau Manaaki o Tararua is derived from our belief in the importance of quality early childhood education for the children themselves, their whānau, their community and for Aotearoa New Zealand. Therefore, we seek to be a leader in the provision of high-quality early childhood education, and by demonstrating what can be achieved, be seen as advocates for children and whānau and help to improve quality early childhood education throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.

More than 6,000 children now attend one of Whānau Manaaki’s 108 kindergartens and around 150 children are enrolled with our Pasifika-focused Etu Ao homebased service.

**Senior Teacher - Wellington Area**
We are looking for an experienced ECE leader to join our Senior Teacher Team on a permanent basis. This is a position that will provide you with purpose and meaning, that can positively contribute to the Whānau Manaaki community. You can be part of an exciting self-managing structure, with opportunities to show leadership and be part of decisions that directly impact children's learning. In this role you are the face of Whānau Manaaki values and strategic intentions with a growth and forward-looking mindset.

We would love to hear from you if you:

- are an experienced and successful Early Childhood Education practitioner who has had leadership experience, holds a recognised teaching qualification in Early Childhood Education and currently hold a Practicing Certificate in Aotearoa New Zealand
- thrive on coaching and mentoring others to be leaders of high quality public early childhood education including facilitating professional learning and development opportunities that make a difference
- are committed to being an advocate for children, their whānau and the community to ensure equity for all
- have an understanding of the diverse ways in which children's learning should be supported and can advocate for this with teachers and other professionals
- have a disposition of curiosity, inquiry and care
- hold a current, clean New Zealand Driver Licence and are a confident driver.

The start date for this role is 28 April 2025.
