Wicked Campers is a highly respected Car and Camper Van Rental company with offices across the world and started running the business in New Zealand in 2005. We have three offices in Auckland, Christchurch, and Queenstown and are looking forward to hiring three General Motor Mechanics, one for our Auckland office and two for the Christchurch office.

We are very supportive, and the remuneration will be adjusted based on the work experience starting from $29.66 per hour. You will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing petrol engines and mechanical components of light motor vehicles, such as transmissions, suspensions, steering and brakes. Further responsibilities will include:

- Repairing and replacing worn and defective parts, reassembling mechanical components, referring to service manuals as necessary,
- Performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubricants, and engine tune-ups to achieve smoother vehicle operation and ensure compliance with pollution regulations,
- Reassembling the engines and parts after repair,
- Detection and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical faults in motors and components,
- Testing and adjusting mechanical components after repairs to ensure appropriate functionality,
- Using a computer for diagnosis and testing of parts,
- Responding to vehicle breakdown service calls,
- Disassembling and inspection of engine assembly, transmission, steering mechanism, and other components, and
- Inspecting the vehicle, document the flaws, and replace any necessary parts.

**Requirements**:

- Have a Diploma in Motor Mechanic or in a related field,
- Have at least 3 years of work experience as a Motor Mechanic,
- Have or can obtain a full driver's licence,
- Be confident when working unsupervised,
- Have great social skills to engage with customers, and
- Be motivated, honest and reliable.

The hourly wage will start from $29.66 and will be adjusted based on work experience.
