Maintenance Fitter

**About the opportunity**

As a Maintenance Fitter, you will work in a team of like-minded trades people and teams and carry duties allowing you to be both plant and workshop based. In your role you will work on a variety of industrial equipment for the different areas in the Pulp division. Alongside immediate team members but also other trades teams and operators you will work on equipment in the pulpmill, boilers, utilities and waste-water treatment plant. You and your team are collectively responsible for providing hands on mechanical engineering expertise and will ensure all engineering functions for the division are maintained for optimal performance. A key focus for you will be plant reliability this will involve both proactive and corrective work. You will actively participate in preventative maintenance strategies and also assist with investigating, then resolving all mechanical breakdowns and failures to minimise production downtime. We would welcome continuous improvement initiatives from you and if appropriate could result in you leading the project related to your idea. This role is a day position and based at our Whirinaki site, 15 minutes north of Napier.
