**Vacancy Details** **Job Title**: Pastrycook's Assistant **Location**: Lower Hutt Wellington **Employment Type**: Full-time **Days required**: Monday to Sunday on shift **Hours per week**: Minimum of 40 hours a week and maximum of 50 hours a week. **Number of Vacancies**: 3 positions **Hourly Rate**:$28.18-$30.00 **Key tasks & responsibilities**: - Assisting all day-to-day operations of the pastry section of the kitchen. - Assisting pastry chef and other senior chefs to create unique ideas and desserts that pair with the menu. - Assisting food costing and portion control. - Assisting check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking. - Assisting monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget. - Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards. - Assisting operate and manage the pastry section of the kitchen liaising with the pastry chef and other senior chefs to ensure a successful working environment. - Help decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting. - Keep abreast with the latest food and industry trends.
