This is a hands-on role with lots of variety, the purpose of this role is to work collaboratively with the Navigational Safety Officers to ensure Maritime safety on Lake Taupō and maintenance of Crown-owned boating facilities and various reserves and public places in the Lake Taupō area.
The Harbourmaster Office is a 24/7 operation and has significant interaction with the community. This role engages daily with the community, providing advice, information, and public confidence in the work we do.

**In this role you will be required to**:

- Support Navigational Safety Officers to ensure crown owned boating facilities at Lake Taupō that are well maintained and provided for safe use by the public.
- Support Navigational Safety Officers to ensure facilities are fit for purpose; Navigational concerns are responded to in a timely manner.
- Complete assigned internal and external training courses.
