We are looking for a Associate Director to join our Geotechnical team in our Auckland Office, giving you the opportunity to co-create with our experts on some of the most prestigious infrastructure programmes. You'll be a visible custodian of our technical expertise assisting to establish best practice, promote innovation, develop our technical staff and ensure we remain at the forefront of our profession.

**On a day-to-day basis you will be**:

- Providing high-quality technical leadership across a range of current projects assigned to you, and internal expertise to others as required
- Mentoring and developing engineering staff in your areas of expertise, including developing and delivering training
- Promoting our position as an established name within your area through involvement in relevant industry bodies
- Technical approval of designs, check or assessment deliverables on your projects in accordance with internal management systems
- Supporting pursuit of relevant business development opportunities and input into bids and tenders as required

**Skills and Experience**:

- Proven experience in a similar role with technical, commercial and business development responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in a design environment working on major or complex geotechnical projects in New Zealand at a senior/leadership level
- The inter-personal skills and aptitude to work collaboratively in a diverse multi-disciplinary team
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, and able to communicate across the business and externally at all levels
- Technically solid engineering skills, able to demonstrate a deep understanding and enthusiasm for geotechnical engineering and a personal commitment to technical quality

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Engineering
- 20+ years relevant experience
- CPEng or equivalent
