**About the role**:
**Key responsibilities**:

- ** Employee Relations & Case Management**:Provide strategic guidance on complex ER issues, manage high-risk matters, coach managers, lead investigations, and ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- ** Advisory & Leadership Support**:Provide expert advice on ER matters, guide organisational change, and align strategies with business goals, while helping update policies for compliance.
- ** Training & Capability Building**:Deliver training on ER best practices and employment law, coach managers and HR on complex ER issues, and maintain accessible ER resources for managers and employees.
- ** Union & Industrial Relations**:Support the business to maintain positive union relationships, support and provide insights to collective bargaining and be part of the collective bargaining team, and support the business in union discussions to align business goals with industrial relations strategies.
- ** Reporting & Continuous Improvement**:Analyse ER trends, provide reports to support decision-making, implement process improvements, and stay updated on legislative changes to ensure policies remain current.

**About you**:
You’re an experienced Employee Relations professional with strong communication skills, able to engage and influence at all levels. You balance commercial needs with compliance, managing complex ER cases like grievances and settlements. With a solid understanding of New Zealand employment law, you thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
- Proven ability to engage and influence managers and employees, offering credible advice at all levels.
- Exceptional communication skills, simplifying complex ER concepts for diverse audiences.
- Strong judgement in balancing commercial needs with legal compliance.
- Demonstrated success in managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in coaching and training managers on employment relations matters.
- Tertiary qualification in Law, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
