**What you’ll be doing**:
Chorus has made a commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience and we are looking for a practiced technical writer to join our team and help take our digital experiences to the next level. This newly established role will play a key part in making it easier for our customers and partners to do business with us digitally.
The focus of this role will be on creating content for the customers of our externally published API’s, and making complex, technical content simple to understand. With your broad skillset you will also support our wider digital team with UX writing, process documentation and support content. Your objective is to create technical documentation the empowers the users to have everything they need to learn & use our digital tools and be supported when they need help.
Day to day will see you:
- Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the digital product & requirements as well as mapping business context/use cases to technical documentation
- Edit, publish and maintain API documentation for API users, such as reference documentation, tutorials and developer guides.
- Supplement developer documentation with relevant sample, code, diagrams or supporting data to simplify their onboarding journey
- Review documentation from technical teams, and translate into a user-led, simple content with the objective to reduce support enquiries
- Proactively seek to reduce support enquiries through continuous improvement of existing documentation or innovate to continually improve the documentation user experience
- Keep up to date with global best practice in API documentation and UX writing standards
- Maintain all key documentation artefacts, master versions and reference materials
**What you’ll bring to the table**:
We are looking for someone with 3-5 years’ experience writing technical documentation who can hit the ground running and make this newly established role their own. In addition, you’ll need:
- Proven working experience in technical writing of software documentation is essential, ideally including RESTful API documentation
- Experience with API tools such as Mulesoft, OAS3/Swagger or RAML preferred
- Great communication skills and ability to collaborate and work well with others
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text or visually
- Excellent written English skills
- Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile practices
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload
- Strong understanding of user centred design and writing practices
- Familiarity with basic JSON, HTML, Postman preferred
