Westbury Stud is offering a unique position at the Matamata (Waikato) stud farm as Stud Administration and Operations Assistant.
The Stud Admin & Operations vacancy at Westbury's Matamata farm is a diverse role and is key for a strong support system between admin and operation efficiencies which include a variety of day-to-day tasks including, but not limited to:
General office duties - stock orders, stationary/supermarket orders, laminating, maintaining filing systems, answering reception when required.
Maintain a clean and tidy Stud Office
Greeting clients and assisting with hosting on farm visitors
Assisting with the execution of on farm events
Entering data into horse management programme
Pulling reports, creating/collating documents
Running errands
Staff inductions and supporting new staff
Assist Health and Safety Manager and proactively support with H&S initiatives
Vet orders and stock take
Tracking horse movements and liaising with transporters
Management of herd health programs
Feed room orders
Assisting with on farm duties when required
General tasks required by the Head of Operations
Key Skills and Attributes:
Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
Reliable and timely (efficient with time)
Proactive and uses initiative
Maintain a high level of confidentiality
Proficient in Microsoft packages (excel, outlook, word etc)
Experience in Ardex software is advantageous
Attitude that is willing to pitch in and help with any task on the farm or in the office
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Relevant industry experience and general horse knowledge

This is a full time role (40 hours a week) working Monday to Friday, reporting directly to the Head of Stud Operations and is ideal for someone who has a keen interest in breeding thoroughbreds who thrives on wearing multiple hats. An energetic and willing attitude is a must to succeed with full training to be provided where required.
