Bakery Assistant

At New World Howick we are proud of our reputation for delighting and wowing our customers. We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer focused individual to join our friendly team in Bakery on a casual basis. Preference will be given to applicants with high presentation standards, who are highly self-motivated, good communicators and contribute well in a team environment to complement our already efficient and successful team.

**The Role**:
Your key focus is the packaging and pricing of all bakery products, including baked breads, rolls, cakes, loaves, biscuits and slices. Displaying products and ensuring bakery shelves and cases are appropriately stocked and bakery products are attractively merchandised and presented.

**To succeed in this role, you will need**:

- An eye for detail and able to maintain standards.
- Previous retail experience in a similar environment will be an advantage.
- Take pride in your work.
- Be prepared to work at pace as part of a busy team.
- Can work autonomously.
- Be customer focused.
- Strong communication (verbal and written)

Previous bakery, food preparation, food retail, or supermarket experience will put you a step ahead, but is not essential.

**Hours of Work**:
Wednesday: 4am to 12:30pm

Saturday: 4am to 12:30pm

Sunday: 4am to 12:30pm

**Applicants must be eligible to work in New Zealand and be a NZ Citizen/Permanent Resident or hold a valid work visa.
