We?re seeking Registered Nurses with at least 2 years post graduate experience to work with adult offenders in either acute forensic inpatients or the rehabilitation forensic inpatient unit well at this Porirua site just north of central Wellington. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team in these important and rewarding roles.
The acute forensic inpatient service consists of Purehurehu (male only unit) and Rangipapa (mixed gender unit).
The main function of Purehurehu and Rangipapa is to provide a safe and secure environment for people who have been admitted into hospital for assessment and/or treatment through the criminal justice system.
People are admitted into these units from two main sources. They are either referred from the courts for assessment and/or treatment as part of the judicial process, or they are admitted from prison for psychiatric care and treatment.
Tawhirimatea, the Regional Rehabilitation Inpatient Unit, is a 29 bed safe care facility. This is a regional innovative supportive service which works along side clients in supporting their journey of recovery using a multidisciplinary team approach.
