**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead the development and rollout of new ways of working at Apex (eg: Trunk-based Development, Test-Driven Development).
- Develop and improve the engineering skills and capabilities across squads by leading the Community of Interest
- Develop and improve the mechanisms for speeding up feedback loops that are needed for developers and other squad members, using metrics to monitor health and drive improvement.
- Deeply understand how we currently deliver value and how we might improve that in the future.
- Promote a “shift-left” culture by enabling “test-first” practices, quality and security early and often in the CI/CD flow (DevSecOps)
- Develop culture where every delivery of changes (code, infra, tests, security) is deemed ready for production.
- Work with teams to deliver mechanisms to deliver safe changes even if they are not fully complete to create culture of constant release.
- Delivering Quality Products - instilling and maintaining a focus on how quickly the team are learning and how we can improve the product, the team and the platforms and apps we are developing.
- Help teams develop and measure performance metrics (both qualitative and quantitative) for value, flow and quality of deliverables.

**Key Skills**
- Effective presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to kickstart practice groups, challenge, inspire, persuade, and influence.
- Deep knowledge and experience of TDD, BDD, DevSecOps and other modern approaches to building quality in
- Familiar and supportive of CI/CD, automating pipelines, and engineering for cloud native, highly available and scalable systems.
- Knowledge of business ecosystems, SaaS, platform as a service (PaaS), APIs, open data, microservices, event-sourced architecture and predictive analytics
- Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies
