We are looking for a 2 X experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our team immediately for an established and Growing construction Business in Auckland. The Position is fulltime, and the job responsibilities are as follow:

- Preparing sites and planning for the day after reading the plans
- Preparing surfaces with self-levelling compound and grinding where needed for new flooring
- Avoiding cutting/damaging any services on site
- Working in team if needed and on plans/schedule provided
- Measuring and marking surfaces
- Cutting material in different shapes and angles as required
- Some gib fixing can be required on some sites
- Making shower trays
- Taking off /on skirtings and trim where required
- Using patterns/plans provided to achieve desired outcome
- Limiting wastage of tile and stone and utilising product in hand to complete the site
- Caulking silicone afterwards
- Using angle grinder, tile cutter, we saw and other equipment’s on site with appropriate safety
- Finishing job in timely manner and with expected standards
- Keeping accounts of material used and material and equipment’s needed for next sites in advance
- Keeping equipment’s and vehicle in good and clean condition
- Adhering to health and safety and other work policies

The successful applicant for the position must have:

- Minimum 1 year of relevant area of work experience
- Basic understanding of working on a construction site
- Tiler/stone mason experience (qualification is ideal)
- Able to lift heavy objects (boxes of tiles where needed)
- Willing to work flexible hours including on weekend
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Knowledge of Reading site plans
- Knowledge of cutting/mitring/measuring and other materials related to tiling
- Knowledge of operating grinder, tile cutter, wet saw etc.
- Knowledge of grinding and prepping the floors/building shower trays for work
- Knowledge of waterproofing and spacing/mitring required
- Good understanding of different type of grout and silicone.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Pay: $31.70 - $32.00 per hour

Schedule:
