Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The Crisis Assessment and Home Treatment Team (CAHT) provides mental health assessment and short term intervention to individuals who present in crisis to the mental health service. CAHT is comprised of nurses, occupational therapists, social workers, doctors and support workers. The team is mobile and works across a range of different settings supporting tangata whaiora and whanau. In their work CAHT interface with a variety of services and agencies such as respite providers, community services, Waikato Hospital, mental health inpatient service and police. The purpose of this support worker position is to provide practical support to tangata whaiora and their whanau who access our service and to provide support to clinical staff who deliver those services.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

Have initiative, confidence and personality with excellent communication skills and is able to readily develop rapport and engage with others.

Work under the guidance and supervision of a registered health professional

Undertake duties in a professional and trustworthy manner

Be able to work using the guiding principles of the Treaty of Waitangi

Have well developed time management skills with the ability to co-ordinate tasks in an efficient and organised manner

Be computer literate and have the ability to complete documentation, both written and electronic

Have a current and full NZ drivers licence
*
A tertiary qualification relevant to mental health work is desirable
