Ratanui Medical Centre is a busy general practice based in West Auckland and is looking to welcome a senior Registered Head Nurse. They will join our dedicated team of health professionals in a clinical leadership role to provide clinical advice, coaching, mentoring, support and input to their nursing and caregiving teams. The Head Nurse will be responsible for developing, leading and providing supervision to our team of nurses and manning clinical service delivery working alongside our doctors. Skills and Experience: - Current Nursing Council of NZ registration and current Annual Practising Certificate - CPR certificate - The role will include administration and clinical oversight on the floor. - Supervise, mentor and support the clinical and caregiving teams - To be a natural people leader who can take the team with you - Lead, manage, supervise and support your team of nurses - workflow reviews, appraisals, education plans, personal and professional goal setting, performance management, recruitment and induction of new staff - Eagerness to learn as well as to teach others. Be available to your team, providing education and resource - Oversee documentation, care plans and client files - Excellent clinical assessment skills with experience at tending to a wide range of medical conditions and acute cases, in addition to chronic patients. Practice nurse experience is a bonus - Excellent communication and written skills - Good time-management and organisation skills that enable you to prioritize and your own work load - Have strong team skills and flexibility to work productively as part of a team as well as autonomously. - Excellent interpersonal skills and cultural competence - Be committed to professional service delivery. - Cornerstone accreditation Additional skills: - Independent Vaccinators Certificate - Cervical Smear Taker Certificate - Cannulation, phlebotomy, diabetes, wound care, etc Patients should feel that they have been dealt with in a friendly, courteous manner and that all that can be done for them, has been done. "Going the extra mile" is our philosophy. Apple Mac and Profile PMS experience will be a bonus. 32-40 hrs per week - rostered between 8am - 6pm. Extra hours for covering staff leave will be a possibility. Rostered Saturday mornings included. Applicants for this position must have permanent NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
