**About the role**

As a Cafeteria Assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and functional operations of our cafeteria. Your responsibilities will include:
**Customer Service**: Assisting with cafeteria service for staff and students, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

**Catering Support**: Helping with catering for functions and noho Marae (overnight stays).

**Facility Maintenance**: Keeping the cafeteria area, facilities, and equipment clean and tidy at all times.

**Food Hygiene**: Adhering to food hygiene standards and health regulations.

**Flexibility**: Being available at short notice to provide excellent service when needed.

**Qualifications**:

- Food handling or basic food safety certificate.

**Experience**:

- Experience working unsupervised in a kitchen setting.
- Experience working in a similar role.

**Āhuatanga Māori**:

- Willing to participate in cultural activities and motivated to develop an understanding of āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga)
- Able to greet and acknowledge people in te reo Māori and pronounce Māori words correctly
- Prepared to increase knowledge, understanding and everyday use of te reo and āhuatanga Māori and support other kaimahi in the same endeavour
