**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

At least one year of previous mental health experience is preferred though this is not essential as you will have opportunities for ongoing professional development.

We are looking for passionate occupational therapists with an interest in the field of mental health. This is a challenging yet exciting area of work requiring a proactive, enthusiastic, and empathic person with a commitment to excellence.

If successful, you will be part of the mental health service coordination team based at Greenlane Clinical Centre. You will work alongside a range of community and inpatient mental health professionals, and you will network with NGO providers across the entire Auckland region. Thus, excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively with others will be key to your success.

As this is a community based role, a full and clean driver’s license is required.

**For further details, please refer to the position description **here**

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

In service coordination you will be part of a team of mental health professionals and you will work closely with multiple services and organisations. This is a fantastic opportunity to make connections with a variety of stakeholders who have a passion for providing mental health care.

You will need to be flexible, self-directed, and have excellent interpersonal skills. As a core part of the role you will undertake comprehensive support needs assessments in order to advocate for appropriate supports for whaiora; and you will routinely review care plans to determine whether recovery goals are being met.

You will plan, coordinate, problem solve, and access a variety of services for tangata whai ora who have high and complex or multiple needs.

You will be competent in using basic Microsoft packages including Outlook, Word and Excel; and have experience in diary management with the ability to use electronic client records.

There is a duty component to the role, and you will act as a resource person to provide appropriate information to colleagues.

You will be supported to develop your existing mental health knowledge and clinical skills. We are seeking someone who is dedicated to empowering and enabling tangata whai ora. This is ideal for a mental health professional who has experience and skills working with people from a range of cultural backgrounds.
