**Taitara Mahi - Library Assistant**
**_Permanent Part-Time_**

Across our Hastings, Flaxmere and Havelock North Libraries, Hastings District Libraries are centres for lifelong learning and recreation. We offer a wealth of resources and are safe, welcoming and vibrant community spaces. To support these, we are currently looking for a Library Assistant. This is a part-time role, initially working 38 hours per week, including a weekend shift.

To be successful in this role you will:

- Have an understanding of the role of Libraries in our Communities.
- Be able to engage with people from all walks of life, show empathy and are aware of the challenges people face in modern society.
- Be flexible and able to accept change.
- Be confident when assisting customers.
- Have an understanding of tech systems, able to help our customers where they may need support.
- Enjoy working in different environments
