**About us**:
Te Wananga o Aotearoa is one of the largest tertiary education institutions across Aotearoa with over 28,000 tauira (students) and 80 campuses nationwide. Our mission is to achieve whānau transformation through education.

**About the role**:
This permanent full-time position reports to the Aukaha Tiaki Kounga - Quality and Performance and is based at each of our takiwā (regional) sites in Te Ihu, Te Waenga and Te Kei. We currently have a vacancy within our Te Waenga Takiwā. The primary function of the Moderation Advisor is to provide moderation and assessment advice within the Takiwā.
**About you**:
Ideally, applicants will have or be able to obtain:
- A qualification at (L7) on the NZ Qualifications Framework
- NZ Certificate in Assessment Practice (level 4) preferred
- Full and current NZ Driver Licence
- 5 years’ experience in the quality assurance of assessment
- An understanding of current NZQA assessment, moderation, and accreditation requirements
- An ability to provide advice and leadership and achieve credibility in assessment at the organization level, and
- A sound understanding of best practice principles associated with learning, curriculum, and assessment.
**Ā**huatanga Māori**:
- Willing to engage in cultural activities (e.g. Karakia, Pōwhiri/Whakatau) and has a sound understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga)
- Understands and uses basic te reo Māori phrases, mihi and greetings (TARM level 2 or equivalent qualification)
- Prepared to increase knowledge, understanding and everyday use of te reo and āhuatanga Māori and support other kaimahi in the same endeavour
