We support wellbeing, flexible working and have a generous leave offering. No two days are the same. We have an opportunity for an experienced Platform Owner to join our Cards & Payments domain in Technology. As a Platform Owner within BNZ Technology, you will maximise the value delivered by the platform team, ensuring alignment with customer needs, stakeholder expectations, and BNZ’s strategic goals. Serving as the team’s advocate and main link with stakeholders, you’ll drive the development of robust, scalable platform solutions that deliver sustainable business outcomes. Platform Owners work within business-aligned platform teams to develop and deliver roadmaps, working collaboratively with Platform Managers as well as Engineering Leads who take the primary responsibility for the goals and development of the technical members of these teams. You may see another role at BNZ called ‘Platform Lead’ which directly manage their team, working on specialist technical systems/platforms, and they often share in their team’s technical skillset or have similar experience. Please note, this is a 12 month fixed term opportunity and is a hybrid role with three days in the office per week. Foster a culture of trust, collaboration, and accountability to drive performance and alignment with business goals. - Risk Management: Mitigate technology risks to ensure security, compliance, and resilience. Resolve incidents to meet recovery SLAs, conduct post-incident reviews, and prioritize actions to improve availability. What is the team culture and environment like? The Cards and Payments Data teams' culture emphasizes collaboration, support, and continuous learning, fostering an environment where members are encouraged to experiment with new tools and ideas within established guidelines. This collaborative spirit is driven by a desire to achieve specific goals and assist peers in their work. What is the most exciting thing about this opportunity? The Platform Owner role offers the chance to drive the development of robust, scalable platform solutions that deliver sustainable business outcomes. You will balance supporting and developing your Business Analyst(s) while your focus on maximising the value delivered by the platform team, ensuring alignment with customer needs, stakeholder expectations, and BNZ’s strategic goals. What technical skills are required for this role? - Product Ownership Experience: Proven experience as a Product Owner or similar role, ideally in platform products. - People Leadership: Experience in leading and developing Business Analysts through all stages of the employee lifecycle. - Technical Knowledge: Understanding of software development processes and platform architecture. - Backlog Management: Expertise in creating, prioritising, and managing a product backlog effectively. - Data-Driven Decision Making: Ability to use data and KPIs to inform prioritisation and product decisions. - Agile Methodologies: Proficient in agile practices, including sprint planning and user story development. - Stakeholder Management: Skilled at aligning with and managing expectations of key stakeholders.
