Research centres are a critical enabler of these strategic priorities and initiatives, bringing together stakeholders working towards common research goals. Following a review in 2022, the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences renewed its commitment to 7 Faculty Research Centres in the areas of:

- Addiction - Centre for Addition Research
- Cancer Drug Discovery - Auckland Cancer Society Research Centre ACSRC
- Eye Health - Aotearoa-New Zealand National Eye Centre (ANZ-NEC)
- Health Innovation - Centre for Translational Health Research: Informing Policy and Practice (Research)
- Hearing & Balance Health - Eisdell Moore Centre

In addition, the Faculty has approved the following Centres as School/Dept Research Centres:

The Research Operations Manager will be directly involved in the development of a new research operations team providing support across our Faculty and School Research Centres.

You will work with the Research Centre Directors to support the implementation and ongoing optimisation of the research centre strategies. You will achieve this through effective research development and research management to provide support services to our Centres.

You will have a track record of complex project management, and in particular the ability to take a leading role in effectively developing initiatives, monitoring project delivery, and assisting with the writing of reports and business cases.

As the Research Operations Manager, you will work closely with the transdisciplinary team of academics, external stakeholders and the public. You will have strong communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with academic staff, students, senior management, government, industry, and relevant communities.

This is a fulltime (37.5 hours per week), fixed term role ending September 2026
Remuneration: $80,900 - $99,900 dependent on skills and experience.

- You will have a thorough understanding of funding or investment opportunities
- You will have comprehensive experience managing financials in a complex organisation.
- You will have a strong track record of programme management, particularly the ability to lead in effectively developing contracts, establishing, and maintaining relationships, and monitoring, reporting, and forecasting deliverables from long-term research programs.
- You will have experience in leading a team
- You will be able to engage at all levels, including senior management, academia, government providers and community stakeholders.
- A good knowledge or experience of public involvement in strategic development and delivery will be valuable.
