**Position Overview**

We are seeking motivated Silviculture Operators to join our team and contribute to the development of our operations.

**Work hours**:
Minimum of 30 hours per week, with potential for up to 40 hours.

**Compensation**:
Hourly rate based on experience, ranging from $27 to $35

**Key Responsibilities**

**As a Silviculture Operator, you will be expected to**:

- Develop and maintain high production and quality standards in practical tasks including,
- _**_- _**_Tree planting_
- _**_-_**_ Releasing spraying_
- _**_-_**_ Pruning and thinning trees_

- Plan silviculture operations using work orders, job descriptions, and maps to guide team members.
- Operate a variety of tools and machinery such as:

- _**_- _**_Chainsaws, loppers, planting spades, machetes and slashers_
- _**_- _**_Knapsack sprayers and poison applicators_
- _**_- _**_Fire pumps and hoses_

- Engage in quality management and performance assessment against industry standards.
- Handle agrichemicals safely, including mixing, applying, transporting, and disposing of in accordance with regulations.
- Develop firefighting skills and be on standby for fire prevention and suppression.
- Transport crews and materials using light utility vehicles and quad bikes as required.
- Operate wheeled or tracked machines for mechanised thinning and timber extraction when necessary

**Senior Operator Responsibilities**

Senior operators and supervisors will also be responsible for:

- Mentoring new employees.
- Providing guidance and supervision to team members.
- Leading onsite health and safety meetings.
- Conducting safe behavior observations (SBOs) to evaluate crew members' skills and performance.

**Minimum Requirements**

- At least three years of relevant work experience or a Level 4 Forestry Certificate.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform required tasks.
- Sober and drug-free; must pass a pre-employment drug test (health and safety requirement).
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills.
