Operations Support - Whanganui
About the roleThe purpose of the Operations Support is to work as part of a team, having responsibility for the assembly of an entire value-added product or a component of a product in order to meet production criteria such as finish times, accuracy, quality and stock counting/recording.
Products may include, but not be limited to, philatelic, coins, collectables, and giftware. The Operations Support can perform all tasks conducted by the team in the assembly process and rotate through all or most of them rather than being assigned to a specific task on a permanent basis.

**Responsibilities**:

- Take responsibility for product and components at all times. When requested by the Operations Manager or Team Leader the job holder is to work in an efficient manner to assemble or partly assemble products/items in order to make ready for supply and dispatch.
- The job holder will be rotated through all or most of the production tasks.
- The job holder will be required to have considerable levels of dexterity, speed and accuracy in order to meet or exceed production output targets (which will be determined by agreed benchmarks in performance) and finish date requirements.
- The job holder will be responsible for achieving the production criteria utilising a variety of available methods such as operating a range of machinery, utilising computer technology and repetitive manual activities as part of the production process.
- Keep accurate track of stock assigned to ones care and assist with the stock counting requirements as determined by the business inventory management criteria.

Qualifications & Experience
- 3 years of high school
- NCEA Level 1 or higher (desired)
- Experience
- Experience working in a fast paced, physically challenging environment
- Skills
- Numeracy and literacy
- Basic computer literacy
- Good communication skills
- Capable of lifting product, product bags, containers and moving equipment continuously for a period of time, by being physically active on the floor throughout the day.
- Can operate under time pressure without this impacting on the quality of work delivered.
