**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**

An opportunity has come up for an enthusiastic and innovative nurse to join a dynamic nursing team in a permanent, full-time capacity as a Clinical Charge Nurse. The purpose of this position is to provide clinical expertise and leadership for the Neonatal Homecare team and coordinate discharge planning from hospital to home. This position manages the day to day requirements of the Neonatal Homecare service delivery ensuring that delivery contributes to a better patient experience and health outcomes, this is in line with organisational requirements.

The CCN Homecare position is based in the Newborn Service at Starship Child Health. The role works collaboratively with CCNs in NICU, Clinical Midwife Specialist in Whitinga Ora Pēpi and Charge Midwives to coordinate discharge from hospital to home for babies who require neonatal nursing care. In the community there is ongoing collaboration with Well Child and Whānau Ora teams.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**

To be successful in this role you will
- Have NZ Nursing Council registration with a current Annual Practising Licence
- Have expert clinical practice
- Have a minimum of 3 years’ experience post registration in relevant nursing specialty
- Have obtained the appropriate post-graduate qualification
- Be working towards completion of Masters Degree
- Have a strong commitment to leading professional development, quality care and whānau centred nursing

Neonatal Homecare is a specialist home nursing service for babies born preterm or unwell after discharge home. The primary purpose is to support the transition from hospital to home until discharge to a Well Child provider or Starship Community Team.
