About the role
We are proud to be the only paramedic service in Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, and the only ones in the country who are free.
Our Event Medics play a vital role in our community, supporting a wide range of events across Greater Wellington and Wairarapa, from major sports and concerts to local fairs, and assisting frontline crews during emergencies.
We’re now recruiting Event Medics for Wellington-based events, starting 14 February. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality pre-hospital emergency care, follow clinical and operational procedures, and complete accurate documentation.

Who we are looking for
Successful applicants must meet the criteria below and be able to commit to the following:
Be available for training (training will be on evenings and weekends) and the Assessment Evening - these dates are also non-negotiable as they align with the training standards for you to complete the course:
February 14th and 15th
February 21st and 22nd
Driving assessment dates to be arranged
Be physically fit for lifting and capable of meeting the demands of the role
Have excellent communications skills and be able to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds
To join our team, you’ll need to commit to a minimum of 3 events per any 3 - month rolling period and 16 hours of training over a two-year period. We know this is a big ask especially if you're working or studying — so please make sure you're ready for the commitment before applying. There's a lot to learn, and we want to ensure you're set up for success from the start.
The recruitment process includes a mandatory Information Session, behavioral interview, and reference checks.

Amphetamine-type substances
Benzodiazepines
Cannabis Metabolites
Cocaine metabolites
Opiates
If your health check results are abnormal or your drug test returns a non-negative result, you may be required to provide further information and/or medical clearance.
