**Nga kawenga | About the role**

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join the very friendly and tight-knit Commercial Legal Team in our Legal Services Unit as the Intermediate Solicitor Commercial.

The Department procures and then manages some of the largest outsourcing arrangements and infrastructure projects in New Zealand. This is across an incredibly diverse range of goods and services to ensure its sites can function. You will work across complex information technology, property and health and rehabilitation services contracts and procurements and commercial legal issues (and everything else in between).

As the Intermediate Solicitor Commercial, you will provide timely, customer-focused legal support on the above commercial legal matters. You will draft, review, and undertake contract reviews and connected advice matters within a supportive team environment.

To be successful in this position you will need:

- Thoroughness, accuracy, and reliability in legal work.
- A fundamental understanding of the machinery of government.
- Proficient interpersonal skills to develop and maintain departmental relationships.
- The ability to manage workloads and prioritise to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards.

**Utu a-tau | Salary**

The midpoint of the salary range is $106,789 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $90,771 - $128,147 per annum. Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.
