**_The role/Te mahi_**
The Compliance Analyst role within the Office of Risk, Assurance, and Compliance is responsible for improving policy, internal controls, and maintaining a disciplined approach to compliance management within the University of Otago.
This is an interesting and varied role, providing you with access to a wide variety of stakeholders and senior leaders across the wider University.
You will be responsible for helping to set compliance policy across all University operations, including academic activity, research, administrative processes, as well as project, and commercial activities.

Ideally you will have previously worked in a compliance focused role with experience within an IT or financial environment. The role will see you working in collaboration with various University groups and committees, so your strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills will be valuable in ensuring your success in this position.
Other useful skill /experiences include:
- Exposure to databases and methods used to extract data for further analysis
- Prior experience with the development and implementation of relevant compliance systems, frameworks and associated policies and procedures
- Competence in using business related software with the ability to grasp new processes and technologies.
