someone with
At least two years’ professional
experience in Biosecurity and/or
Project Management
A relevant professional qualification
in an area related to pest plant and
animal ecology/biosecurity
An in-depth knowledge of New
Zealand’s biosecurity issues, pest
species and control techniques
A passion for biosecurity, and a
strong desire to help protect New
Zealand’s environment
Excellent communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills, a
solutions focused approach, and a
desire to work collaboratively in a
team environment
An understanding of risk
management principles and their
The ability to effectively prioritise,
allocate, manage your time, and keep
to timelines
Well-developed skills in project and
contract management (desirable, but
not essential)
Experience in the use of GIS software
and related tools (would be an
advantage)
A current and full New Zealand
drivers’ licence
Based in the heart of the vibrant Warehouse precinct, out close-knit Dunedin
team are looking for another addition to the local and national Biosecurity
team. Whether you’re a Dunedin local, or looking to relocate to Otago, we
have an exciting opportunity for the right person to join and contribute
to our wide range of local and national projects. Dunedin is a small city
jam-packed with offerings; recreational activities include mountain biking,
surfing, tramping, hunting and many more. For the more urban dweller,
Dunedin’s hospitality, arts and culture scenes make this one of NZ’s great
small cities.
Working as part of a passionate and supportive team, you will work
collaboratively with clients, subcontractors, landowners, and the public
across a variety of projects, to effectively deliver biosecurity services in
aquatic and terrestrial pest plant and animal management across New
Zealand. This role has a mix of office-based responsibilities balanced with
time away from the office undertaking field work in the great outdoors.
